On 13 November 2015 the central celebrations of World Vasectomy Day took place in Bali, Indonesia. This year’s leading theme is “Vasectomy as a Proof of Love” An Act of Love. The central point, to which reports from all over the world arrived via Skype and from where, after processing, they were broadcast live, was the town of Gianyar

The aim of the mission was to perform free vasectomies for poor patients (fathers of numerous offspring) and, perhaps more importantly, to teach local doctors to perform vasectomy using the newest method – without a scalpel, needle or sutures – and to use anaesthesia without a needle.
The mission participants met several times with representatives of the local authorities, with journalists and even with an Imam, according to whom Islam permits vasectomy because it is a reversible method.
